Amritsar police seized 2 kg of heroin, arrested 3 people in cross-border drug smuggling case

In a serious crackdown on cross-border drug smuggling, Amritsar Police Commissionerate CIA personnel seized 2 kg of heroin and arrested three persons. The names of the suspects were not disclosed due to ongoing investigations into their connections.

Police Commissioner Gurpreet Singh Bhullar stated that preliminary investigations revealed that the arrested persons were in contact with Pakistan-based drug traffickers and used social media applications to coordinate smuggling through drones.

“Acting on specific intelligence, CIA Personnel-1 arrested the trio at Dana Mandi near Bhagtawala while they were traveling on a motorcycle which was also seized. The suspects’ statements led to the seizure of contraband,” CP said.

A case has been registered under the NDPS Act at the C Division police station here.
