One person airlifted after serious car-motorcycle crash in Aurelius

A serious collision between a car and a motorcycle on Clark Street Road in Aurelius led to one person being airlifted for emergency medical care Saturday afternoon.

According to Cayuga/Seneca Fire Wire, the crash occurred in the 1500 block of Clark Street Road and prompted the response of multiple emergency agencies.

Emergency personnel from the Aurelius and Throop Fire Departments arrived on scene, along with deputies from Auburn City Ambulance, New York State Police and the Cayuga County Sheriff’s Office.

Due to the severity of the motorcyclist’s injuries, Mercy Flight medical staff were called and the individual was transported to a nearby hospital for further medical care.

The crash temporarily closed a portion of Clark Street Road as crews worked to assess the scene and facilitate safe transport of the injured person.

Local authorities have not yet released any further information about the cause of the crash, which remains under investigation by state and local authorities.
