Man stabbed to death at Ellice Boulevard hotel in Winnipeg identified, suspect charged

Winnipeg police have identified two men involved in a stabbing that occurred earlier this week.

A man died at a hospital after being stabbed the night before at a hotel in the 1800 block of Ellice Avenue, police said Friday.

In a news release Sunday, police said the victim was in St. He identified him as 47-year-old Jeremy Norton Flett of Theresa Point First Nation. Flett was living in Winnipeg at the time of the incident.

Authorities said a quick arrest was made in the incident.

David Justin Knott, 42, was found near the scene Thursday night and arrested without incident. He is charged with second-degree murder and two counts of failure to comply with the terms of a release order.

He was detained.

Winnipeg police said officers are still investigating Flett’s death. Anyone with information is asked to contact police or Crime Stoppers.
