Off-duty NYPD employee arrested on assault and criminal mischief charges

NEW YORK – An off-duty New York City Police Department employee was arrested Sunday morning in Queens, according to police reports.

Kennie Morales, a 27-year-old NYPD community assistant, was taken into custody at 3:22 a.m. on Nov. 10 under the jurisdiction of the 113th Precinct. Morales faces multiple charges, including third-degree criminal mischief, second-degree threatening, third-degree assault and second-degree harassment.

Details of the incident have not been released and it is unclear what led to the charges. The NYPD had no further comment on Morales’ arrest or his current employment status with the department.
