MADISON, Wisconsin (WFRV) – A current member of the Wisconsin Badgers football support staff was arrested for OWI early Friday morning following a crash.

According to the Madison Police Department, At approximately 12:35pm on November 8, officers were dispatched to the area of ​​South Segoe Road and Keating Terrace. It was reported that when the authorities arrived at the scene, eyewitnesses directed the police to the driver who walked away from the scene.

A vehicle crashed into a street sign, broke through a fence and came to rest in a garden, according to authorities.

Police said the driver showed signs of impairment and admitted to driving. No injuries were reported.

The driver was identified as 61-year-old Jack L. Del Rio. He was arrested for first offense OWI and released to a responsible party.

Del Rio is currently listed As Senior Advisor to the Wisconsin Badgers Football Team Head Coach. As of now, Del Rio has not been formally charged, according to court records.
