Iraq resumes temporarily suspended air traffic

Iraq announced on Saturday that it had reopened to air traffic at all its airports following a temporary suspension of its airspace “due to regional tensions”.

In a statement, the Iraqi Ministry of Transport stated that the decision to return to normal operations came after the elimination of all potential risks that could affect the safety and security of civil aviation in the country.

The statement stated that the General Company of Airports and Air Navigation has resumed operations to manage incoming, outgoing and transit flights through Iraqi airspace.
Additionally, Iraqi Airways will restart flights to all destinations to coincide with the reopening of Iraqi airspace to air traffic.

Earlier today, Iraq temporarily suspended all flights in response to the Israeli attack on Iran.
