Two Judges Dismissed, 6 Judges Dismissed, Reasons Revealed

Kano State The Judicial Service Commission (JSC) has taken serious action against eight judicial staff accused of misconduct. According to Baba Ibrahim, spokesperson of the Kano State Judiciary, these personnel faced penalties ranging from suspensions and warnings to indefinite recall from duty.

One of the staff, Judge Nasir Ado, was found guilty of conducting court proceedings without recording them and later falsifying the records. This was considered gross misconduct and he was recalled from judicial duties.

Abraham said:

“The Commission accepted the JPCC’s recommendation, noting that Nasir Ado’s actions constituted gross misconduct. For this reason, he was recalled from judicial duties.”

Channels TV It reported that other staff were subject to scrutiny for a variety of offences, including abuse of authority, overstepping roles, soliciting bribes and corrupt practices. Sharia court judge Yusuf Kawu has been recalled indefinitely for releasing a convicted criminal without following proper procedures.

The JSC also issued stern warnings to Justices Sanusi Atana and Alkali Abubakar Abdullahi for overstepping the boundaries of their jurisdiction. Finance Registrar Salisu Nayola was forced into retirement for demanding bribes, while court envoy Shuaibu Bello was suspended for four months without pay for corrupt practices.

Ibrahim added that these disciplinary actions demonstrate JSC’s commitment to maintaining high standards of integrity within the Kano State Judiciary. As Baba Ibrahim emphasizes, “misconduct will not be tolerated” and every employee is expected to adhere to the highest ethical standards.
