In a letter to parents and carers, Mr Jones said: ‘I am writing to inform you that your child’s class teacher has undertaken the sad task of informing the class of the sudden death of a year nine pupil – Zac Trevett.

‘When someone dies it is normal for friends and family to experience a range of emotions including sadness, anger and confusion.

‘Pupils have been informed that staff will be on hand to support them if needed and I will also be putting bereavement and bereavement guidance on the school website.

‘Our thoughts and prayers are with Zac’s family at this sad time.’
