Middukhera’s brother records statement in 2021 murder case

Prosecution witness Ajaypal Singh Middukhera, elder brother of the deceased, recorded his statement in the Mohali court today in the 2021 Vicky Middukhera murder case.

The accused Kaushal Chaudhary, Amit Dagar, Sajjan alias Bholu, Anil Lath, Ajay alias Sunny alias Lifty and Bhupinder Singh alias Bhupi Rana appeared in court via video conferencing. The court set the next hearing date tomorrow.

While Chaudhary, Amit Dagar, Sajjan, Anil Lath and Ajay were produced by Gurugram jail authorities, Bhupi Rana was produced by Kapurthala jail authorities through video conferencing.

The trial in the murder case has reached the stage of prosecution witnesses, with the court recently indicting six defendants.

The court framed the charges against the accused under Sections 302, 482 and 120-B of the Indian Penal Code and the Arms Act. The defendant did not admit his guilt and requested a hearing.

Police identified Sajjan alias Bholu (37), a resident of Jhajjar, Anil Kumar Latth (32), a resident of Delhi, and Sunny (20), a resident of Kurukshetra, who were active members of the Bambiha group that shot dead Young Akali Dal. (YAD) leader Vicky Middukhera in Sector 71 on August 7, 2021.
