Solon man pleads guilty to killing his father

CLEVELAND, Ohio (WOIO) – A 34-year-old Solon man has pleaded guilty to murdering his father.

Robert Gullia pleaded guilty to involuntary manslaughter, aggravated assault and crimes against a human corpse.

Cuyahoga County Common Pleas Judge Michael Shaughnessy sentenced Gullia to a minimum of 20 years and a maximum of 25.5 years in the Lorain Correctional Institution.

At approximately 10:50 a.m. on November 22, 2023, the victim’s wife called 911 to report that her husband, 65-year-old Theodore Gullia, was not breathing.

When officers arrived at the home in the 34700 block of Sherwood Dr., they found Gullia deceased with “visible injuries to his head and other areas.”

Robert was detained at the scene.

Police added that Robert had spent the previous night alone at home with his father and attacked his father with an object.
