Uluru dazzles visitors with lightning show as the park enters hottest season

Visitors to Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park were treated to a dazzling lightning display as the area underwent a change of seasons and welcomed the “hottest part of the year”.

Lightning flashed over Uluru in the Northern Territory and was recorded by a park ranger presenting “a natural light show to locals and visitors”.

Park rangers said the Anangu people experience five different seasons. The hottest period is known as Mai wiyaringkupai/kuli season and warnings are made that lightning strikes during this period may start a fire.
