MORRISVILLE, Vt. (WCAX) – A judge granted bail for a nursing assistant accused of sexually assaulting a patient at a Morrisville nursing home.

Paul Williams, 59, of Morrisville, pleaded not guilty to sexually assaulting a 95-year-old woman last week at the Manor nursing home, where he worked as a licensed nursing assistant.

Court documents say the victim had severe dementia and a witness reported Williams after hearing the woman’s call for help and finding her in her bed.

A judge set Williams’ bail at $100,000 on Tuesday.

If convicted, he faces up to 25 years behind bars.

His trial could start in January.
