Man accused of kidnapping pregnant Brunette woman in Mexico

Washington state and federal prosecutors have filed criminal charges against one of the suspects allegedly involved in a case. Pregnant woman kidnapped in Auburn He was taken to Mexico in October.

The Auburn Police Department announced the arrest of a man in Texas in connection with her disappearance. Detectives tracked 24-year-old Daniel Lopez through Texas with the help of the FBI and other agencies.

Prosecutors charged Lopez with first-degree kidnapping and unlawful possession of a firearm, according to charging documents.

Auburn police confirmed that authorities in Mexico have located missing woman Jackelin Perez and that Mexican authorities are working with Guatemalan authorities to return Perez to the country. Police said Perez was found earlier in the week, but it took some time to confirm it was him and that he was safe.

According to police, searches were conducted in Guatemala, Mexico, Texas and Washington to find Perez.

In October, police said Perez, who was six weeks pregnant, was “taken from her home under duress” and arrested at 2014 I St. in north Auburn sometime between 6 and 7 p.m. on Oct. 13. He said he disappeared from his apartment at NE. Investigators said Perez’s husband arrived home about 20 minutes after his wife disappeared. However, he did not call the police and report her missing until the next morning.

One of the men who allegedly kidnapped her was Lopez.

A witness saw two men enter Perez’s apartment, and the men threatened the witnesses with a firearm before taking him in an “extraordinarily violent kidnapping,” charging documents said.

Investigators were able to locate Lopez’s license plate near a hotel in Houston, Texas, according to the documents.

FBI agents and local law enforcement were still searching for other suspects believed to be connected to Perez’s disappearance.

Lopez was extradited to Washington, where he pleaded guilty to all charges.

He remained in custody on $1,000,000 bail.
