Opelika Head Football Coach Bryan Moore faces suspension for AHSAA violation

OPELIKA, Ala. (WTVM) – According to news out of East Alabama, Opelika Varsity Football Head Coach Bryan Moore has been suspended ahead of the team’s matchup with Hoover.

Sources say the Alabama High School Athletic Association issued the suspension for violation of Coach Conduct code Rule 5, section 3: “A coach or non-faculty coach found guilty of immoral or unsportsmanlike conduct may be disqualified.” …”

Reports say Moore was seen wearing a playoff ID for Opelika student media while sideline scouting at the Hoover Met last Thursday.

Opelika City Schools released the following statement to WTVM Sports Leader 9 regarding the issue.

AHSAA Executive Director Heath Harmon also made the following statement:

The (9-2) Opelika Bulldogs look to take on the (9-2) Hoover Bucs in an AHSAA 7A Second Round game this Friday.
