BOSTON – The Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority says a five-day service interruption due to maintenance on the Red Line has resulted in the removal of five speed restrictions announcedOnly four slow orders remain in the entire MBTA rail transit system.

Service was shut down between Broadway and North Quincy from November 5-10, as well as between Broadway and Ashmont from November 9-10. During this time, work crews replaced more than 9,500 feet of rail, 26 ties, 143 trusses and 260 planks; resurfaced and compacted approximately 7,900 feet of runway and completed special track repairs. A number of signal upgrades, station repairs and improvements, inspections and related works were also carried out.
