Security was tightened around the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya on Tuesday after pro-Khalistan leader Gurpatwant Singh Pannun allegedly posted a video message threatening to attack the temple.

While intelligence agencies, counter-terrorism squads and bomb disposal squads were put on high alert, there was heavy deployment of State Armed Constabulary (PAC), Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) and Uttar Pradesh Police across Ayodhya. .

“We have tightened security measures after getting information about the threat from media reports,” Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) RK Nayyar told PTI.
