Troopers say Blair County woman arrested on assault with intent to murder – 9&10 News

On Friday, November 8, troopers from the Michigan State Police (MSP) Traverse City Post were called to a home in Blair Township for a report of an assault at approximately 11:45 p.m.

Police said the suspect and victim were in the driveway when they arrived. Troopers interviewed the suspect, Jennifer Lynn Vargas, 42, of Traverse City, and the victim separately.

The victim told troopers that he was thrown upside down down the stairs, was struck repeatedly, and lost consciousness multiple times as a result of suffocation. He had visible bite marks on his hand and a cut from a knife, troopers said.

Vargas was arrested and booked into the Grand Traverse County Jail. The victim was treated by Long Lake EMS and transported to Munson Medical Center in Traverse City for further evaluation.

Vargas was arraigned Tuesday in 86th District Court in Grand Traverse County on a single charge of Assault with Intent to Homicide.
