A 21-year-old man has been jailed for less than four years after stabbing a staff member. Charing Cross The station has come under a terrible attack.

Jonathan Daniel, of no fixed abode, stabbed a staff member at London central station after being told to move away from the entrance after his aggressive behavior caused trouble on October 20 last year.

He pleaded guilty on Tuesday to charges of causing grievous bodily harm, possession of a knife and religious/racially aggravated harassment.

BTP investigating officer DC Gemma Lee said: “This was a horrific attack on someone who was simply doing his job, helping to keep the rail network and those who use it safe.

“The victim suffered broken ribs and bleeding around the lung and remains traumatized by the events of that afternoon.

“There is no excuse for carrying a knife or other weapon on the rail network and we continue to work tirelessly to have them removed from the railway.”
