Notorious fraudster PASSY MA TREVOR will remain in custody until next year after being refused bail over the multimillion scam she masterminded.

Wednesday, November 13, 2024 – A Makadara court has allowed the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) request to dismiss bond with online influencers Pascaline Peter alias Passy Ma Trevor and George Mutual Mutunga alias Imran.

The two face charges of obtaining money by false pretenses.

In his ruling, Chief Justice Erick Mutunga said the investigation conducted through Advocate Ms. Kaaria Joy Kawira provided sufficient evidence to deny bond to the accused.

“The purpose of bail is to ensure the presence of the accused during the trial, I have examined the charges in this court and taken into account the submissions of the investigating officer and the learned counsel in the matter and in my opinion, Mutunga has held that the accused may not have motivation to attend the court if granted bail.

The magistrate also stated that the court had taken into account the safety of the accused and granting bail to the accused could interfere with the prosecution’s case.

However, the court decided to hear the case on priority.

The defendants were accused of seizing Ksh. He fraudulently said that he would obtain 23.5 percent monthly interest on $80 million of money from the public.

They are also fighting charges of conspiracy to defraud, contrary to section 317 of the penal code, and operating as a collective investment scheme without a valid license issued by the Securities and Exchange Commission or the Central Bank of Kenya.

They are alleged to have committed the crimes on different dates between 3 March 2023 and 30 August the following year.

The case will be heard on January 15, 2025.
