Chicago crime: Charges dropped against Wisconsin man critically injured in fight at Butch McGuire’s

CHICAGO (Wales) — Charges have been dropped against a man who seriously injured another customer during a bar fight.

A 24-year-old from Mequon, Wisconsin He was arrested on October 20 A 27-year-old man allegedly broke a glass in his face.

The bar fight took place at Butch McGuire’s bar at State and Division streets.

On Wednesday, the Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office dropped the charge against the man after a lack of evidence.

The man was facing a felony charge of aggravated battery.

On Oct. 22, prosecutors said shards of broken glass caused cuts to the victim’s face and severed his carotid artery, requiring surgery.

The man was released on the condition that he have no contact with the victim or witnesses and stay away from Butch McGuire, authorities said.
