The suspect was arrested and charged; Unidentified second suspect

HOUSTON – Houston Police Department held a press conference to share new updates About a series of rapes in Northwest Houston District, including an arrest.

Police say 29-year-old Denzeill Sneed was arrested and charged in two attacks, including the most recent assault. The first charge will be burglary (sexual assault) with intent to commit another crime in relation to the incident on August 14. A second charge of aggravated sexual assault will be filed for the attack on November 8.

Sneed was taken into custody in the Acres Home area.

Houston police say there may be a second suspect in the other three attacks.

A serial rapist has been targeting women in the West Bay Bank area since August. The gunman is wanted by Houston police for raping five women at four different apartment complexes in West Gulf Bank and West Little York.

In each case, the suspect either broke into the victim’s apartment or entered through an unlocked door. In some cases, the suspect appeared to be armed.

According to Houston police, the most recent assault occurred on Friday, Nov. 8, at the young women’s complex at 3434 West Little York. Sneed was identified as the suspect in security camera footage of this incident.

Houston police identified the following incidents:

• Aug. 14, 5454 West Gulf Bank Road: A woman was attacked in her home around 6:30 a.m. This suspect was identified as Sneed. Police said she was able to get inside and was inside the apartment before he got home.

• Nov. 8, 3434 West Little York Road: A female victim was assaulted by a suspect identified as Sneed who entered the apartment through an unlocked door around 7:30 a.m.

• Oct. 9, 5300 West Gulf Bank Road: At approximately 7 p.m., a female victim was assaulted by an armed suspect who broke into his home.

• Oct. 17, 5350 West Gulf Bank Road: A female victim was attacked around 2 p.m. by a suspect, wearing a ski mask and armed with a gun, who forced entry after knocking on an apartment door.

• Oct. 24, 5350 West Gulf Bank Road: A woman was attacked by a suspect who knocked on her door around 7:50 a.m. and was forced inside by a ski-masked and armed suspect.
