The plea in the Supreme Court seeks suspension of ongoing NEET-PG counselling.

The petitioners have argued that the NEET-PG information bulletin can be changed as per the wishes and desires of the authorities and that there are no rules or regulations governing the conduct of the exams.

He objected to the National Board of Examinations’ (NBE) practice of not releasing question papers, answer keys or candidates’ answer sheets for the 2024 examination.

The indictment stated that there was a clear lack of transparency in the conduct of the exam, as no document allowed students to check their performance, and that neither the question paper, nor the answer sheet filled out by the candidates, nor the answer key were presented. distributed to the students and only the score card was given.

In the petition submitted by lawyer Parul Shukla, it was emphasized that unlike previous years, where the candidate’s total score as well as the number of questions asked correctly and the number of questions asked incorrectly were taken, the results announced on August 23 this year did not provide this information. candidate’s total score.

“The manner/manner in which the examination under NEET PG 2024 was conducted by the participants (authorities) is clearly arbitrary and contrary to the principles of transparency and fairness in state actions enshrined in Article 14 of the Constitution of India,” he added.

The claim stated that NEET-PG has never been conducted in two shifts before and the national examination has always remained a single shift and a single day exam to ensure uniform examination standard and fairness.

It highlighted a “serious patent flaw in the conduct of the examination” that needed to be corrected to achieve a clean, transparent and effective examination system that yields the best candidates.

“NEET-PG is a multidisciplinary exam where one’s rank also determines one’s ability to choose the course and field of their choice. The slightest change in marks will prevent many candidates from specializing in their field of interest,” he added.
