Linden area man jailed for allegedly raping unconscious woman | News, Sports, Jobs

A Woodward Township man accused of inappropriate contact with a cognitively impaired woman in Sullivan County was arrested and jailed Wednesday morning for allegedly raping another woman while she was unconscious, according to state police.

The latest charges were filed by Police Officer Josiah Reiner, who accused James Anthony Esposito Jr., 65, of 1366 Northway Road, Linden, of sexually assaulting a female acquaintance at his Loyalsock Township home in late September. The two met when the woman hired Esposito, who previously owned a tree service. “Cut down the trees on your property” the soldier said in a statement.

In the court document, it was stated that Esposito saw the woman in a bar on the East Side of the city on the night of September 26, approached her and started talking to her. When he decided to leave the bar, the woman told Esposito she was going to a club in the neighborhood, police said. When he asked Esposito if he could join him, he said it was okay with him, so the two drove to the club in separate vehicles around 6 p.m., the affidavit said. They each had a beer at the club and spent about 15 minutes there before leaving the resort in their own vehicles. Reiner said he had to leave at the same time as Esposito because she was not a female club member.

Woman “I didn’t tell Esposito anything about further plans that evening. They just said goodbye and went their separate ways.” The statement read: But when the woman arrived at her home and started getting out of her car, she saw Esposito’s truck pull into the driveway, Reiner said. “She had no idea why he followed her to her home. She approached Esposito and asked him what he was doing there.” the investigator said in the court document. After talking for a few minutes, Esposito asked the woman if he could come to her house. “He agreed for a beer” said Reiner.

Once inside, the two drank beer and talked for several minutes before the woman asked permission to use the restroom, the court document said. “The woman returned and continued drinking the beer she had left for Esposito while he was in the bathroom. After continuing to drink his beer, he said he didn’t remember anything else. “The next thing he remembered was regaining consciousness while lying face down in his bedroom.” and feel “very painful” Reiner said it was in his lower body. The investigator said the woman suddenly realized she had been sexually assaulted allegedly by Esposito.

“Take the (expletive) out,” the woman shouted at Esposito; He immediately left the bedroom and told the victim about the situation. “I need to get these beer cans. I need to take them with me.” the court document stated. The woman told Reiner that she was there too after Esposito left. “I love it” until the next morning.

On September 28, just two days after this alleged assault, Esposito was taken into custody and arraigned before District Judge Jennifer Y. Vandine in Sullivan County on charges of indecent assault on a mentally disabled person, indecent assault by forcible compulsion, simple. assault, disorderly conduct and harassment. These misdemeanor and summary offenses filed by Laporte state police stem from an incident that occurred May 17, according to court records. Esposito was released on $25,000 bail. The Sullivan County Department of Victim Services assisted in this investigation. Reiner’s investigation did not begin until Oct. 2, when UPMC Williamsport notified him that a rape victim had arrived at the hospital for treatment. Reiner interviewed the woman at the hospital.

Before District Judge William Solomon, Esposito was remanded to the Lycoming County Jail without bail on charges of rape of an unconscious female and indecent assault, a misdemeanor charge of involuntary deviate sexual intercourse, plus a misdemeanor charge.
