Lawrence O’Donnell Says Donald Trump ‘Insulted’ Elon Musk in Public

MSNBC’s Lawrence O’Donnell sarcastically explained how he believes President-elect Donald Trump “humiliated” Elon Musk in front of House Republicans during a conference call on Wednesday.

Trump has a “distorted state of mind” that means “at some point” he “will have to belittle everyone around him to demonstrate his dominance over them,” O’Donnell said earlier this week, adding that Trump is currently belittling his campaign funder he suggested. on multiple levels.

Trump told GOP lawmakers in front of Musk: “Elon is not going home. I can’t get rid of him.” Musk has been staying at Trump’s Mar-a-Lago home since before the election.

“Everybody laughed,” O’Donnell said. “They laughed that disturbing laugh. But when Donald Trump jokes about someone on his team, they laugh; a joke that everyone knows is true, a joke that makes that person look pathetic; “Donald Trump’s sense of personal superiority requires him to do this.”

Trump appointed Musk as co-chair of a new nonprofit tasked with reducing financial and bureaucratic waste.

But O’Donnell called it a “phony job” with no real power. O’Donnell said Musk is little more than a lobbyist because the spending cuts he proposes must pass Congress. The host also described Trump as “Elon’s dad” and mocked Musk for following Trump.
