WEST PALM BEACH – Donald Trump met with the President of Argentina at the Mar-a-Lago club on Thursday Javier MileiHe is the first foreign leader to meet with the president-elect since his victory in last week’s election.

The meeting was confirmed by a person who insisted on anonymity to discuss an incident that has not yet been made public. The person said that the meeting went well and that Milei also met with investors.

Shortly thereafter, Milei, a self-described “anarcho-capitalist” who has received frequent praise from Trump, spoke at the America First Politics Institute gala at Mar-a-Lago. He criticized left-wing ideologies and hailed X owner Elon Musk, saying the social media site was helping to “save humanity”.

Trump also addressed the gala crowd, congratulating Milei “for the job you’ve done for Argentina” and saying it was an “honor” to have the Argentinian president at Mar-a-Lago.

“The work you do is incredible. Make Argentina Great Again, you know, MAGA. “He is a MAGA person,” Trump said to applause. “And you know, he does it.”

Shortly after Milei’s election in November 2023, Trump tweeted on social media, “You will turn your country around and make Argentina truly great again!”

Milei first met Trump in February at the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) in the Washington area. He openly expressed his admiration for Trump and shouted “president!” when he saw him. He ran to him shouting. They hugged him tightly before taking a photo.

Known for his eccentric personality, the Argentinian president first made his name on television by shouting against Argentina’s “political caste”. The right-wing populist campaigned using a chainsaw as a prop to symbolize his plans to cut public spending and scrap government ministries.
