Man charged with assaulting children

A man appeared in court accused of more than a dozen crimes against children.

The man cannot be named because Tynwald introduced laws preventing the identification of alleged sex offenders.

He has not yet been charged with one count each of indecent assault and intentional ill-treatment, two counts of gross indecency and assault, and five counts of inciting or procuring a child to commit gross indecency.

He is also charged with three counts of gross indecency with an adult; It is said that all of these crimes took place between 1989 and 1998.

The case was adjourned to December 3 and he was released on bail until then.
