All lanes of the 101 Freeway in downtown Los Angeles were closed in both directions Friday morning due to a “behavioral emergency,” officials said.

LOS ANGELES (KABC) — All lanes of the 101 Freeway in downtown Los Angeles were closed in both directions Friday morning due to a “behavioral emergency,” authorities said.

The incident began around 7 a.m. Friday morning on the north Main Street overpass over the 101 Freeway.

“A female patient experiencing a behavioral emergency at the Main St x 101 Fwy overpass,” according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.

Air7 was on the scene around 7:40 a.m. as traffic was diverted off the highway.

No detailed information has yet been given regarding when the highway will reopen.
