Patrol teams and ambulances serving youth in ORR

Hyderabad: According to officials, lack of driving skills and frequent violations of traffic rules and safety instructions on the Outer Ring Road (ORR) are major contributing factors to accidents. Despite these difficulties, patrol teams and ambulances respond to emergencies immediately.

In a recent incident in Keesara, a woman died in a road accident because she did not wear her seat belt even though the vehicle’s airbag was working as designed.

Rachakonda and Cyberabad commissionerates cover 158 km of ORR; The former has seen 42 accidents so far this year, while the latter has seen 126. Last year, these figures were 58 and 80, respectively.

Narsingi ACP Venkata Ramana Reddy pointed out that most of the violations observed in such accidents are due to drivers lacking basic driving skills and using vehicles that are not roadworthy. Common violations include speeding, negligent driving and not wearing a seat belt.

The officer explained: “Many drivers lack basic driving skills, leading to careless and negligent driving. Additionally, vehicle maintenance such as proper work lights, radium decals and indicators are often neglected. Some drivers are unaware of the appropriate distance they must maintain when traveling at certain speeds.” not.”

The tragic incident in Keesara also shed light on the effectiveness of patrol teams and ambulances on duty in ORR, which is closely monitored by HMDA’s growth corridor.

CGM Ravinder Reddy disclosed that ten trauma centers and 10 ambulances have been deployed along the ORR line to deal with emergencies.

“These tools are available 24/7 and are geotagged for real-time tracking. Victims are treated at the nearest trauma care center and transported to hospitals if necessary,” Reddy added.

In addition to medical emergencies, patrol teams also assist in clearing debris, arranging fuel, and removing defective vehicles and spare parts from the road. Reddy said he receives calls to the toll-free number 14449 every day and the response is quick.
