Lafayette man sentenced to 70 years in prison for murder on Nov. 25, 2022

LAFAYETTE, Ind. ― Patrick Norman will spend the next fifty years serving a 70-year prison sentence for the murder of Terry Robinson on November 25, 2022.

Norman, 42, of Lafayette, was sentenced Friday in Tippecanoe District Court to 60 years in prison for murder and 10 years for use of a firearm in a crime. The entire sentence will be served in an Indiana prison.

The total sentence is 70 years, but in Indiana a convict must serve 75% of the sentence, which in Norman’s case was 52 years. He has already been detained in prison on pre-trial detention for two years, resulting in less time spent in prison.

Norman will be 92 years old when he completes his sentence for killing Robinson.

Robinson was killed in a broad daylight shooting on Green Street west of Wabash Street.

Under the plea agreement, other charges presented in Norman’s murder case, including selling meth, were dismissed at sentencing Friday, as were drug-related charges in an unrelated case.

Another defendant suspected of killing Robinson is Charles Bressler, 39, of Lafayette.

His hearing will be held on January 14.
