Police investigating stabbing in Quincy; Nearby school placed on ‘modified lockdown’ – Boston News, Weather, Sports

QUINCY, MASS. (WHDH) – One person was taken to the hospital following a stabbing in Quincy Friday morning, police said.

Around 8 a.m., police responded to a reported stabbing near Quincy Catholic Academy. According to the Quincy Police Department, the stabbing victim was found on the street at the Quincy-Milton line and taken to Boston Medical Center.

The school was placed on a “modified lockdown” meaning students remained indoors.

“At this time we are not sure where the incident occurred, so we are investigating all of this information. The most important point I want to make to all parents here in the North Quincy area is if your student is at Quincy Catholic Academy, they are safe,” said Quincy Police Sergeant Patrick Faherty.

Detectives were searching the area for evidence and trying to locate any security video from cameras in the area.

Officers asked Mieu Ng, who lived nearby, to show them security video from cameras outside her home.

“He didn’t show anything, yeah. We have a few cameras, but they are all on our land so they don’t show the street,” Ng said.

Ng said he was shocked when he heard about the incident.

“This is a pretty crowded neighborhood, but are there things like this? No. “It doesn’t happen often,” he said.

Police were expected to remain in the area to monitor the school’s closure. The reported stabbing remains under investigation.

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call Quincy police.
