Lockport man admits to distributing child pornography

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — A Lockport man pleaded guilty to distributing child pornography after sending sexually explicit photos and videos to someone he believed to be a 13-year-old girl, the U.S. Attorney’s Office announced Friday.

Gerard Dzierzanowski, 52, communicated with an undercover police officer who appeared to be 13 years old on Whisper and Kik in February 2023, authorities said. Dzierzanowski sent police videos showing a prepubescent girl having sexual intercourse with a boy. images of child pornography.

The undercover officer repeatedly told Dzierzanowski that he was 13 years old. He sent her a sexually explicit video of himself, a ‘selfie’ of himself, and asked her to engage in sexual activity with him.

In August 2023, digital items were seized during a search warrant and were found to contain images and videos containing child pornography.

Distribution of child pornography carries a mandatory sentence of at least five years and a maximum of 20 years in prison. Dzierzanowski faces a $250,000 fine if convicted. Sentencing has not yet been scheduled.
