Pentagon says there is ‘no verifiable evidence’ of extraterrestrial technology, entity or activity

The Pentagon said on Thursday It found no verifiable evidence of extraterrestrial beings, activity or technology, although a former Pentagon official told Congress on Wednesday that evidence exists to show “we are not alone in the cosmos.”

The Department of Defense is submitting to Congress its fiscal year 2024 annual report on unidentified anomalous events (UAPs) — otherwise known as UFOs — Pentagon deputy press secretary Sabrina Singh told reporters at the news conference. More than 1,600 UAP reports since the department was established in July 2022.

Last year, 757 of 1,600 reports came to AARO, and the office resolved hundreds of cases, defining UAPs as objects such as balloons, birds, drones, satellites and aircraft.

Singh also said more than 900 of the reports lacked sufficient data for analysis, but those cases remained in an active archive and could be reopened if additional information emerged to support his analysis.
