Crown pursues sexual assault charge against Waskesiu business owner

When a charge is stayed, the Crown has up to a year to bring the matter back to court if new evidence comes to light.

Attorneys Brian Pfefferle and Mark Brayford were Graae’s attorneys.

“Mr. Graae is grateful to investigators and the Crown Prosecution Service reviewed the matter before proceeding with this prosecution. Mr. Graae cooperated fully with this investigation and provided conclusive evidence of his innocence. The RCMP and Crown Prosecution Service made the right decision. “He is innocent and a prolonged trial would be a waste of resources,” Pfefferle said. PANOW.

At the time of the incident, RCMP also executed a search warrant at a residence in Waskesiu. Police seized a small amount of cocaine and smuggling materials. Police also charged Graae with one count of smuggling as a result.

That charge will be dealt with early when Graae returns to court in Lake Montreal in early December.
