Dolly Parton’s older brother has passed away.

David Parton died at his home in White Pine, Tennessee, on Friday (11.15.24) at the age of 82, but the cause of death has not yet been announced.

“David Parton, 82, of White Pine, formerly of Sevierville, passed away at his home on Friday, November 15, 2024,” an obituary read.

David’s sister Stella has already posted a heartfelt tribute to her brother on social media.

“My brother David passed away peacefully this morning. It’s never easy to say goodbye to someone you love, but he got his angel wings and is now at peace,” Stella said on X.

Stella also announced the news on her Facebook page.

He said: “It’s never easy to lose someone you love. My wonderful brother David Parton passed away in the early hours of the morning.”

David was a retired superintendent bridge builder and one of Dolly’s 11 siblings born to Robert and Avie Lee Parton. The country music icon has yet to publicly comment on his brother’s passing.

However, in 2021, Dolly took to social media to announce the death of her brother Randy, who died of cancer at the age of 67.

“My brother Randy lost his battle with cancer,” she wrote on Facebook at the time. “The family and I grieve his loss, but we know he is in a better place than we are now. We are a family of faith and believe he is safe with God and has never been this way before.” “We believe he was joined by his family members who set out and welcomed him with joy and open arms.”
