APD added that the officer called for backup and attempted to handcuff Jones while waiting for them to arrive. But Jones “broke free and began walking away.”

Additional officers eventually arrived on scene and “assisted in taking him into custody,” APD said.

Jones was booked into the Arlington County Jail around 3:30 a.m. on Nov. 16, according to booking records. His bail was set at $319.

Representatives for Jones did not immediately respond to PEOPLE’s request for comment.
