20-year-old man dies after being stabbed in central Geelong

A 20-year-old man was stabbed to death in Geelong.

Police said they responded to reports of a man suffering from stab wounds on Little Malop Street in central Geelong at about 5.30am on Sunday.

Investigators believe the man was injured during a nearby altercation.

Ambulance Victoria said paramedics treated the man for upper-body injuries and took him to Geelong hospital in a critical condition.

Police said the man died at the hospital.

Two other people involved in the incident were also taken to the hospital and treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

Homicide detectives are continuing to investigate and anyone with information is asked to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
