Williamson man faces multiple charges for causing car crash and provoking extended domestic incident

A Williamson man is facing multiple charges following a domestic dispute that led to a vehicle crash in Arcadia Township Saturday morning, according to the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies arrested Winston D. Sharpe, 26, of Arrowbend Drive, after responding to an incident on Hydesville Road. Authorities allege Sharpe was involved in a prolonged domestic dispute with a woman who was protected by an Active Protection Order.

During the dispute, the woman was driving with Sharpe when he reportedly grabbed the steering wheel, causing the car to veer off the road and into a ditch. The vehicle sustained significant damage and had to be towed, but none of the passengers were injured.

Sharpe is currently facing a number of charges; two counts of first-degree criminal contempt, one of physical contact in violation of a protective order and the other of causing property damage exceeding $250. Additional charges include second-degree criminal mischief, second-degree reckless endangerment, reckless endangerment of property and second-degree harassment.
