In the early morning hours of November 17, Russia carried out one of the largest missile attacks on Ukraine since the beginning of the war.

According to Ukrainian officials, the Russian military launched 120 missiles and 90 unmanned aerial vehicles. Officials say that 7 civilians were killed in Russia’s attack in the Dnipropetrovsk, Lviv, Odesa and Mykolaiv regions. Dozens more people were injured.

The last time such a large launch was seen was almost three months ago, on August 26, just after Ukraine’s Independence Day. At that time, Russia launched 127 missiles and 109 unmanned aerial vehicles.

It appears that the target of this attack was the largest thermal power plants, substations and railways in western and central Ukraine.

For the first time in a long time, Russian missiles reached the westernmost region of Zakarpattya and landed near the popular ski resort of Bukovel.

Local officials said energy infrastructure was partially damaged by the debris. There has been a power outage in many regions for a while.

However, after a few hours, electricity was restored in most areas. However, the situation is still difficult in cities such as Odesa and Kryvyi Rih.

Ukrainian officials warn that the Kremlin still has a stockpile of missiles and similar attacks could be repeated later in the winter.
