Marc Marquez reveals the technical transformation that helped him reach the Barcelona MotoGP podium

Marc Marquez’s time with the Gresini Ducati team ended with a second place finish, good enough for third in the riders’ standings.

This was a result achieved despite Marquez’s struggles at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya, and this was highlighted in Saturday’s Sprint, where Marquez finished a clear seventh.

“Today was a difficult day, especially because yesterday was a difficult Sprint race,” Marquez said at the post-race press conference in Barcelona.

He added that some technical changes to his bike setup were key to his improved performance on Sunday.

“But my technician was great throughout the night; I guess he doesn’t sleep much.

“We analyzed everything we did and we are more or less back to the bike we started with in FP1.

“During the warm-up phase, I started to feel better and was working my way through the race.

“Of course we had some weak points, but I was strong in my strong points, which was extremely positive.”
