Man brandishes BB gun during road rage in West Auckland

A man has been arrested after brandishing a BB gun during a road rage in West Auckland on Monday.

Police were called after a witness saw a man pull out a gun and threaten construction workers on West Coast Road between Glen Eden and Kelston shopping centre.

The witness said the man shouted obscenities, pulled out his middle finger and then gestured as he walked away with what appeared to be a firearm.

A police eagle helicopter was deployed to the area and the vehicle was tracked to an address on Great North Road in New Lynn.

Before the alleged criminal left the house, ground units cordoned off the property and a BB gun was recovered by police.
