Arrest made in stabbing attack in Boston

BOSTON — A 46-year-old New Bedford man was arrested Friday in connection with a stabbing in Boston’s South End neighborhood.

At 2:48 p.m., officers from District D-4 responded to a report of a stabbing at 474 Massachusetts Avenue.

They located an adult male victim with multiple stab wounds and provided emergency medical assistance.

Boston Emergency Medical Services transported the victim with life-threatening injuries to a local hospital.

The victim is expected to survive.

Police arrested Nathaniel Almeida after spotting him near Gage Street and Northampton Street.

It matched the description provided by Boston Police Operations.

Officers noticed a laceration on Almeida’s arm and took him to the hospital.

Almeida faces charges of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, assault and battery, threatening to commit a crime and witness intimidation.

He is scheduled to be arraigned in Boston Municipal Court.

The incident remains under investigation by the Boston Police Department.
