Violence in Manipur: Amit Shah chiefs meet amid unrest in Manipur, 50 central force units to be deployed

Union Home Minister Amit Shah chaired a high-level meeting on Monday to discuss the ongoing situation in Manipur as violence escalates in the state. This was the second consecutive day of the Home Secretary’s deliberations on the state’s security concerns.

As tensions remain high in the region, the Ministry of Home Affairs has decided to intensify security deployment in Manipur. The Center is sending an additional 50 companies of the Central Armed Police Force (CAPF) to the state. This follows the earlier deployment of 20 companies, resulting in a total of 70 CAPF units being mobilized to maintain law and order in the state.
