It was first introduced in Pokémon X and Y in 2013 and was later brought to earth. Pokémon Go In 2020, Mega Evolution is a way to temporarily evolve your Pokémon.

It only affects certain Pokémon, but sees them “shining” into a more advanced version of themselves with higher health, increased stats, and much more powerful moves.

Mega Energy can be difficult to achieve as there are only a limited number of ways to earn in-game currency. Additionally, since each Mega Energy is unique to each Pokémon, a lot of playtime is required to unlock the feature.

Still, some ways are better than others.

The fastest proven method to gain Mega Energy, Participating in Mega Raids. These battles involve Mega Pokémon, so you’ll need more than one person and your strongest Pokémon.

The faster a Mega Pokémon can be defeated, the more Mega Energy will be rewarded upon completion.

Another way to unlock Mega Energy is by finishing Research found at PokéStops, walking with a friend, or completing Special Field Research through monthly challenges.

Once a Pokémon manages to Mega Evolve for the first time, you can Mega Evolve the same Pokémon without needing Mega Energy. A Pokémon must rest for a certain period of time before it can Mega Evolve once again.

Mega Energy can then be used to reduce rest time.

What are Mega Levels in Pokémon Go?

Two years after implementing Mega Evolutions, Niantic has added a new component to the mobile game in Mega Levels.

“Every time you Mega Evolve a Pokémon, you attempt to increase its Mega Level,” Pokémon Go production manager Ibe Owunwanne said as part of the announcement.

“Each time a Pokémon’s Mega Level increases, you will receive more bonuses, and these bonuses will remain active as long as your Pokémon Mega Evolves.. The higher the Mega Level, the better the bonuses!”

Certain Mega Levels will also increase your chances of earning Candy XL when you catch Pokémon of the same type as your Mega-Evolved Pokémon.

In addition, it has become possible to Mega Evolve Pokémon from the Pokémon information screen, as well as from the Raid and Battle preparation screens.
