2 people killed, 2 injured in weekend shootings in Clearwater

Clearwater police responded to three unrelated shootings over the weekend that left two people dead and two others injured.

The first armed attack took place around 02:00 on Saturday in St. It happened at the Washington Square apartments at 2 Fernwood Avenue near St. Petersburg College’s Clearwater campus. Police said the conflict between the attacker and the woman’s 19-year-old son turned into a gunfight.

The 43-year-old woman and her 51-year-old boyfriend were shot and taken to Orlando Health Bayfront Hospital.

Her boyfriend died from his injuries. Police did not release their names.

No arrests were made.

Around 11 p.m. Saturday, police responded to the 900 block of Vine Boulevard in Clearwater, where a 52-year-old man was shot. The man was critically injured and taken to Morton Plant Hospital and later received treatment at St. Louis in Tampa. He was transferred to St. Joseph Hospital.

Police did not release the man’s name. Detectives believe the shooting was drug-related and the man knew the shooter, according to police. No arrests were made.

The third report of a shooting came in early Sunday morning after police found the body of 38-year-old Everton Dove near an access road in the 21000 block of US 19 North. Police said Dove was fatally shot.

Police said Dove’s last known address was a hotel on Ulmerton Road.

No arrests were made in the case.
