Hugh Grant has candidly admitted that he believes he became a father “too late in life.”

The 64-year-old actor, who gave birth to his first child at the age of 52 and has since embraced fatherhood with his five children, talked about how much being a father softened him.

“Before they came along I was just a dried-up, middle-aged, golf-addicted Englishman,” he joked.

Grant is known for his roles Four Weddings And a funeral And Notting HillHe joked that he sometimes fantasized about being away from the joyful chaos for “a long time.”

He shares three children, Blue (6), Lulu (8) and John Mungo (12), with his wife, 41-year-old Anna Eberstein.

Despite his humor about his late start, he admits that fatherhood has given him a new sense of purpose and “heart.”

The actor, now 64, admitted that he started his parenting journey at the age of 52, saying: unintelligent podcast, “We think there are five (children), but I found them very old in life.”

He also shared his pride in his rom-com legacy and how fatherhood has deepened his acting talents.

The performer, known for her charm in countless romantic comedies, admitted that she feels her craft has improved with age.

“I guess I was a dried-out, middle-aged, golf-addicted Englishman, then I had kids and suddenly I had a heart and more layers,” he explained.

He now embraces complex characters instead of leading roles struggling with love at the beginning of his career.
