45-year-old ‘perverted’ man jailed for 15-year ‘cold rape and sexual assault campaign’ against his wife and 2 young daughters

A MAN who “abused the trust” of his “own blood and soul” by repeatedly raping his wife and two young daughters has been sentenced to 17 years in prison.

The 45-year-old man, whose name was not released to protect the identities of his victims, was accused of 185 counts of rape and rape. sexual assault.

Pleaded guilty to sample counts and appeared before the Central Criminal Court Court inside Mushroom This morning for detention.

His crimes spanned a period of 15 years.

One of the man’s daughters was raped from the age of 9 to 16, and the other from the age of 9 to 11.

One of the young women stated that the inappropriate touching began after she made Holy Communion, and from then on the harassment increased.

Lady Justice Mary Ellen Ring said the man breached his position of trust in the family home to exploit vulnerable young girls and their mothers in a “cold campaign” of rape and sexual assault from 2004 to 2019.

Mrs Justice Ring said the man had given no indication of understanding the “devastating impact” his “deviant” actions had on his family.

He said that his eldest daughter was raped by her father for seven years, starting from the age of nine.

The violation of his person occurred “hundreds of times.”

One of his most traumatic memories was of being hunted while he slept.

Abuse Reported

Abuse report was made to mother and her eldest daughter gardai In April 2020.

The man still lived in what had once been his marital home.

He was interviewed five times and denied allegations that he raped his eldest daughter. He even suggested that she might have been asleep when he entered their bedroom. This was despite the significant and damning forensic evidence in the case.

Mrs Justice Ring said the “sexual violence” against his ex-wife took place within a coercive, controlled relationship in which he became more isolated as the years went by.

Even as she fell ill during the last few years of their marriage, he continued to rape her.

WEEKLY ATTACKS

The first time she was raped was in a hotel room after a wedding ceremony. After she confronted him about it, he threatened to kill himself.

Mrs Justice Ring said the woman was raped “three or four times a week” for years. “He learned not to react because it made him even more excited.”

When she told him she planned to leave, he threatened to kill her or take her children away from her.

The man was scheduled to stand trial in connection with the rape of his second daughter last month.

PLEASE OF GUILT

As in previous cases, he pleaded guilty at the last possible opportunity. Mrs Justice Ring said that this young woman, who was still in her teens, was raped by her father between the ages of 9 and 11.

All three women gave victim impact statements to the judge. Her eldest daughter recalled taking a shower after being raped by him and scrubbing herself until she bled. To his great chagrin, he once bought her underwear for her birthday.

He said he “never felt safe” as a child. But now he has “good days and bad days” and considers himself a survivor.

The man’s ex-wife said he stole all her trust and worth and blamed her for what he did to their daughter.

EMOTIONAL ABUSE

She said the emotional abuse continued even after she separated from her husband.

By telling people in the area about the allegations made against her, she deprived herself and her daughters of their right to anonymity regarding the crimes committed against them. After years of abuse, she suffers from panic attacks.

The little girl said she was raped regularly from the age of 9 to 11. He’s still a teenager, but he doesn’t feel like a “normal teenager.”

Mrs Justice Ring said the man even used the young girl’s pets as “weapons” when he left the family home. He now has new pets and goes to therapy.

‘UNEXPLAINABLE BEHAVIOR’

Mrs Justice Ring wished good luck in the future to all women who will endure “unspeakable behaviour” while they are “stranded” in their family homes.

The judge said: “Their determination to take the case forward should be applauded. None of these women are charged. All of this is placed on (the man in question)’s shoulders.

“From 2004 to 2019, he waged a cold-blooded campaign of rape and sexual assault against his wife and daughters, during which he threatened and manipulated his wife and daughters. This had devastating effects on the family.”

Ms Justice Ring said that in addition to vaginal and oral rape, the use of vibrators to rape his wife and daughters made these crimes even more degrading and degrading for women.

The man, who had no previous criminal record, was sentenced to 18 and a half years in prison, with the last 18 months suspended.

Mrs Justice Ring directed him to comply with all conditions set by the probation and welfare service upon his release from prison.

The case was investigated by Det Sgt Elaine Scannell and Det Brian Morris from the Garda Protective Services Unit in Co Cork.
