Coroner identifies North Charleston man found dead in ditch

NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCSC) – The Charleston County Coroner’s Office has released the name of a man found dead last month.

William “Billy” Blauth, 75, of North Charleston found dead in ditch in front of his home in the area of Ridgeway and Cherokee Avenues.

Blauth was found lying on his back in the ditch around 11:45 a.m. on October 24. The police report stated that Blauth was clearly dead.

The coroner said the investigation into his death is ongoing, so the cause and manner of death are still pending.

This case remains under investigation by the North Charleston Police Department.
