Saxophonist KingSax Arrested for Allegedly Raping Two Sisters

Popular saxophonist and De Naija soul talent hunt show star, Sampson Udo, popularly referred to as KingSax, has been arrested for allegedly raping two sisters who invited him to perform at an event.

According to the Foundation for Investigative Journalism (FIJ), the 27-year-old victim, Destiny Ameh, allegedly met Udo online and later invited him to her event at Elegushi Beach in Lagos on October 6.

Destiny’s younger sister, Grace Ameh, said Udo pulled her sister into the backseat of the car, “locked the doors, got on top of Destiny, and forcibly raped her,” according to the version of the story on the FIJ website. He closed his mouth and leaned his weight on her.”

According to FIJ, Destiny did not file a report or tell anyone about it until two weeks later.

“Destiny left after the incident and when he got home she sent him abuse, but she never reported because she was so confused. Two weeks later the victim came out to Grace and the matter took a new turn.”

Grace said she went to Akwa Ibom, where her sister resides, but “she told me two weeks after the incident. Then I called his number. He claimed the sex was consensual, so I asked why he would slam his car door if my sister was consensual and why he would then send her these texts. He became quiet and stopped calling. Then I called him many times but he didn’t answer. “I sent him WhatsApp messages and he didn’t reply, so I went to X to call him.”

FIJ said Udo used his social media accounts to deny the allegations, saying he was falsely accused of rape after Grace’s story gained traction online.

He wrote: “My attention has been drawn to a post on Twitter by (redacted), whose username (redacted) has already gone viral. The post implies that I had a strong sexual relationship with someone she claimed was her sister.”

“I am innocent of this accusation. The post was made to disparage and ridicule my rapidly growing personality and brand. “I consulted with my legal team.”

They also explained that Grace was arrested by the Lagos State Police Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) where he was asked to pay the sum of N15 million, retract his statements and publish an apology in two national magazines.

“There were four male police officers questioning me and I felt uncomfortable,” Grace said.

“I thought there would be at least one woman. Those police officers started making fun of my sister and me. Someone said, ‘Does this new kid look like someone who might rape someone?’ he said.

”Udo and his lawyer then told me that I should pay N15 million and withdraw X post and then publish an apology in two national newspapers. I agreed to delete the post but declined the request for money. Later, the police said that I would be detained because I could not solve Udo financially.”

But the whole story took a different turn when Udo offered to drop Grace and her lawyer off and allegedly harassed and raped her.

Grace explained: “He then went to a restaurant and ordered alcohol but I refused. Soon after, I wanted to leave as I needed to collect N2 million before the end of the day to avoid a defamation suit, but before boarding the Uber I ordered, he asked me to give him my body in exchange for money. I left.

”The next day he sent his address and kept calling my phone, so I finally picked it up. He sounded angry and said I wasn’t serious and that he would take me to court if I didn’t give him what he wanted in exchange for dropping the case. His lawyer was also calling me and harassing me. “I thought of seeing him later to beg him to drop the case, but when I got there he attacked me, ripped my dress and raped me.”

However, the FIJ announced that it had gathered evidence when Grace called Udo on November 12, adding that the Uber driver who witnessed the saxophonist’s harassment towards him would appear as a witness.

As of the date of this report, the FIJ had not yet released or disclosed the content of the audio recordings due to their “mental horror content.”

According to FIJ, Udo was arrested by SCID police on Thursday morning and is being held pending court appearance; The police also refund Grace’s N450,000.

Activist Serah Ibrahim stated that Udo’s lawyer and his girlfriend have been seeking an out-of-court settlement since his arrest, and that she and lawyer Inibehe Effiong, along with others, have been closely monitoring the case since Grace’s initial arrest.
