Court of Appeals of Georgia He single-handedly canceled the debates scheduled for December 5. The court did not explain the reason for this move.

Three other criminal cases against Trump have remained pending since Republicans won the presidential election nearly two weeks ago.

Trump and other defendants are charged in state court in Atlanta with crimes related to his attempt to overturn his 2020 election loss to the President in Georgia Joe Biden.

Earlier this year, the judge on the case, Scott McAfee, allowed prosecutor Willis to remain on the case even though it was revealed that she had a romantic relationship with the top prosecutor assigned to the case.

Trump and other defendants appealed that decision, and the Court of Appeals in June stayed proceedings in the case pending the outcome of that effort.

Last week, a New York state judge in Manhattan delayed until Tuesday a decision on whether to convict Trump in the hush-hush trial. The Manhattan Prosecutor’s Office had requested a postponement from the judge, arguing that it was necessary to evaluate how Trump’s election victory would affect the case and that Trump was awaiting sentencing.

The US Department of Justice is expected to dismiss two more criminal cases against Trump because of his election.

In one of those cases, Trump is charged in Washington, D.C. federal court with crimes related to trying to overturn Biden’s 2020 national election victory. The judge in that case paused proceedings in the case at the request of the lead attorney, special attorney Jack Smith.

In the second case, Trump was accused in Florida federal court of crimes related to his withholding of classified government documents after leaving the White House in January 2021 and obstructing government officials’ efforts to recover these records.

The Florida lawsuit was dismissed earlier this year by U.S. District Judge Aileen Cannon, who was nominated by Trump.

Smith is appealing Cannon’s decision. But last week, he asked the 11th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals to suspend proceedings in the case, citing Trump’s election victory. The federal appeals court granted Smith’s request.
