The person who allegedly sexually assaulted 2 children was arrested in Greece

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — A man in Greece was arrested on sexual assault and rape charges after allegedly sexually assaulting two minors in October 2024, the Erie County Sheriff’s Office announced Monday.

Ahmed Yaqoob, 24, drove from Greece, New York, to North Collins on Oct. 17, where he picked up a 12-year-old woman and a 14-year-old girl, authorities said.

He then allegedly drove to a remote area in the town of Concord, where he sexually assaulted both minors, police said.

The following accusations were made against Yakup:

  • Predatory sexual assault on a child under 13

  • first-degree rape: forcible compulsion, two counts.

He was arraigned and transported to the Erie County Holding Center on a $25,000 cash bond, where he remained in custody.
